The family

Thirty years of guests in Kamilari

The apartments were Kadiani’s idea. She was born in Kamilari and grew up here, and thirty years ago she began to welcome visitors to the village. Seven years ago the family added two apartments down by the sea in Kalamaki, the beach where they have always gone to swim.

Today Irini, Kadiani’s daughter, looks after the guests. She answers your messages, meets you when you arrive and is the one to ask about anything during your stay, in English, Greek or a little French. Her parents don’t speak English, so it is Irini you will write to and talk to.

From our garden

The family makes its own olive oil, olives and quince spoon sweet, the preserve traditionally offered to visitors in Greek homes. Every guest receives a small gift, and if you would like to take some home for yourself or for friends, just ask. Through the year there are treats from the garden too, whatever the season brings.

Many guests come back every year, and Irini’s regulars come mostly from Germany and France.

Questions and answers

What guests ask us

If your question isn’t here, ask Irini: she will reply within a day.

When are you open?

From April to early November. The price per night is the same in every month.

What time can we arrive, and when do we leave?

The apartments are ready from 15:00 on the day you arrive. On the day you leave, please be out by 11:00. If you arrive late, tell us beforehand and we will arrange to meet you.

How many nights must we stay?

At least four nights.

Is there a discount for a longer stay?

Yes: stays of two weeks or more are 10% cheaper.

How do we pay?

In cash.

Are there stairs?

Yes. All four apartments are on the first floor, up 20 steps. If that could be hard for someone in your group, tell us before you book.

Can we bring our dog?

We are sorry, but pets cannot stay in the apartments.

Do you have a baby cot or a high chair?

No, we don’t. Rooms 2, 3 and 4 have a single bed besides the double.

Is there heating?

The air conditioning in each apartment heats as well as cools, and the hot water is solar-heated.

How often are the apartments cleaned?

Every four days, with fresh sheets and towels.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, and it reaches every apartment.

Do we need a car?

To explore the area, yes: buses don’t reach every village. For a holiday of rest, walking and swimming, you can manage without one. The square is a two-minute walk away and the beach at Kalamaki three kilometres.

Where do we swim when it is windy?

The beaches below the village face the summer wind. When it blows, we send swimmers to Kaloi Limenes on the south coast.
